Nick Notardonato, Tutor
M.Ed., Special Education

Meet Nick

I am in my eighth year as a Special Education teacher and am passionate about helping students lean into their strengths while building confidence in areas of need. I believe that the foundation of academic success starts with a strong relationship, so I place a high value on building a positive connection with each student. My goal is to help students develop not only a positive relationship with me as their tutor, but also with school and learning itself.

While I enjoy working across all subjects, I have a particular love for math. My approach combines patience, encouragement, and personalized strategies to ensure each student feels successful and supported.

Before becoming an educator, I proudly served for six years as a United States Marine. That experience instilled in me a strong sense of discipline, service, and perseverance — qualities I bring into my work with students every day. After my military service, I earned my undergraduate degree in Sport Management from Loyola University Chicago, followed by a Master’s degree and Teaching License in Special Education from Relay Graduate School of Education. Teaching has allowed me to continue my passion for serving my community while making a direct impact on the lives of students and families.

Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our three young children.
